Guangdong's Hidden Gem Island - Lion Island

Don't miss Lion Island when you come to Huidong! This little-known beach, untouched by overdevelopment, has sand so white it glows and seawater as blue as a painter’s palette. The best part is the few people and beautiful scenery—every snap looks like a masterpiece! 🌊Transportation Tips: For drivers, just navigate to "Pinghai Town South Gate Lion Island." It’s about a 40-minute drive from Huidong County, passing by a stunning coastal highway. The parking lot is right at the beach entrance, 15 RMB per vehicle with no time limit. For public transit users, take the Huidong-Port bus and get off at the South Gate Sea Station. From there, it’s a 15-minute walk to the island, a very pleasant stroll by the sea~ 📸Travel Tips: 1️⃣ The best photo spot is the rocky area on the east side of the beach. At low tide, you can capture a mirror-of-the-sky effect. Wearing bright-colored dresses makes your photos pop! 2️⃣ The most comfortable time to visit is between 4-6 PM. It’s not too sunny, and you can catch the dreamy orange sea sunset. The silhouette of the guy walking alone in the photo is one I took! 3️⃣ You can rent sun umbrellas by the sea (50 RMB/day), but it’s better to bring your own picnic mat and tent. Lying under the shade listening to the waves is super healing. ⚠️Notes: Remember to wear non-slip shoes! Some rocks have slippery algae. There are no shops by the sea, so bring your own drinking water and snacks. Be sure to take your trash with you~
