Half Ancient City, Half Sea | Chongwu Ancient City of Quanzhou

🌈Attraction Features: A famous 4A-level seaside scenic spot, Chongwu means to honor military preparedness, and it is one of the most intact granite anti-Japanese stone cities in China! You can enjoy stone sculpture gardens, beach fun, and appreciate the unique charm of Hui'an women! 🗓Itinerary: Enter from the small city gate next to it and you can stroll along the ancient city wall. There are gun towers where you can descend into the ancient city, which is actually residential houses. The city wall is equipped with watchtowers and gun platforms, offering a great view, and the landscape of half ancient city and half sea is unobstructed. If you get tired, you can choose any city gate to visit the original residential area. The houses in the ancient city are all made of stone, hence it is also called the Stone City. The residents living here are descendants of the anti-Japanese military forces from the past, with sites like Haitide Ancestral Hall, Guandi Temple, temple architecture from the Song, Ming, and Qing dynasties, as well as various ancestral halls, all worth a visit. 🚉Transportation Tips: Navigate to Haitide Ancestral Hall or Chongshan Ancient Temple for entrance through either of the two city gates, or you can enter through a small alley at the West City Gate (which is farther from Hui'an County). Personally, I think walking around the ancient city wall is enough to enjoy the entire beautiful coastline, no need to enter the park. 🎟️Ticket Info: Chongwu Ancient City does not require a ticket, but the China Arts & Crafts Stone Carving Expo Park outside the city wall does require a ticket. 🕙Business Hours: 1.5-2.0 hours 💗Other tips: It is recommended to set your drop-off location to the northeast gate 2 of Chongwu Ancient City. After viewing the sea at Half Moon Bay, go up the city wall from the west gate entrance to the big characters of Chongwu Ancient City. You will pass by the Seaside Defense Impression Stone Sculpture Exhibition, walk along the long sea-viewing plank road, pass by the statue of Qi Jiguang, the depths of Haimen, and the Guanhai Pavilion, and then you will see the beach. The depths of Haimen are just some large rocks with cracks, like steps. After touring the beach, you can walk towards the shore and see the big characters of Chongwu Ancient City. This place is also the meteorological dividing line between the East China Sea and the South China Sea. Exiting the scenic area, crossing the road to the city gate, passing through the city gate gives a feeling of traveling through time, and you can go up the city gate to look into the distance!
