Eat Like a Local: Authentic Street Food Experience in Hue, Vietnam

#eatlikealocal #100waysoftravel #vietnam #vietnam_dishes #hue We stumbled upon a small local Vietnamese stall while exploring Hue, Vietnam. Curious about the dishes being steamed and wrapped by the Vietnamese owner, which resembled our otak-otak, we decided to order a few to try. One of the dishes was Bánh bèo, a popular Vietnamese street food made from a combination of rice and tapioca flour. It’s topped with dried shrimp, crispy pork skin, scallion oil, and served with a dipping sauce. Another dish, wrapped in banana leaves, had a taste similar to otak-otak. These authentic Vietnamese snacks, hard to find elsewhere, offered a unique experience. We even sat on small stools, just like the locals, making it a memorable and fun way to enjoy the local food culture.
