Anhui Chengkan | The No.1 Memorial Temple in Jiangnan, a rare Huizhou-style building in China.

The Luo Dongshu Memorial Temple is located in Chengkan Village, Chengkan Town, Huizhou District, Huangshan City, Anhui Province, China (formerly She County). It is a memorial temple of one of the branches of the Luo family in Huangshan, belonging to the category of clan memorial temples, and commemorates the 13th generation ancestor of the Luo family, Luo Dongshu. It is considered the largest existing memorial temple with excellent design and carving, and was listed as a national key cultural relic protection unit in 1996. Luo Dongshu was a famous scholar in the late Song Dynasty and early Yuan Dynasty. According to the Luo family, Luo Dongshu was smart and outstanding when he was young. After he grew up, he was indifferent to fame and fortune, lived in seclusion in the countryside, and enjoyed farming and reading. He accumulated virtues and did good deeds, treated people with benevolence and righteousness, and won the reputation of "Huang Lu Zhi's talent" and "Ouyang Yongshu's virtuous". Scholars at that time also respectfully called him Mr. Dongshu. The Luo family respected such a beloved ancestor even more. It is said that his sacrifice imitated the etiquette of the Confucius Temple in Qufu, which is rare in Huizhou memorial temples. There are four entrances and four courtyards, which are symmetrically distributed along the axis, covering an area of 3,300 square meters, which is large in scale and ranks first in Jiangnan.
