There are many niche attractions in Hong Kong, which are very special, but there are not many people who know it. On the seashore near Causeway Bay, the most prosperous Hong Kong Island in Hong Kong, there is a small park known for its fort. This is a spot called Yihe Noon. The Jardine Noon is located on the shore of the Causeway Bay Typhoon Shelter, which is owned by Jardine Matheson. As early as 1841, Jardine Matheson purchased the land, built a warehouse and had a cargo terminal. In order to deal with pirates, a fort was set up. In 1850, the general manager of Jardine Matheson returned to Hong Kong from the United Kingdom. The staff fired a 21-gun salute at the fort. This caused dissatisfaction with the British army. Yiheyang expressed his apology and then sang the salute every day at noon. Since then, the salute at noon every day has become a tradition that has been handed down. In 1961, some residents complained that the mid-cannon guns were overwhelming. The Marine Police took the original cannon and replaced it with a fast-fire projectile that fired a 3-pound shell. The gun has been in use ever since. The current noon cannon is a free and open tourist attraction. Visitors can watch the salute from outside the guardrail, which has become part of Hong Kong culture. However, this attraction is very small. It is not easy to find for the first time. There is an underground passage from the opposite office building that can directly reach the noon. Every day before the release of the salute, there is someone responsible for cleaning and maintenance.
