Dining in Tseung Kwan O | Duan Chunzhen Beef Noodles | My favorite: Thick Chicken Noodle Soup

Before heading to DON DON DONKI for a meal, #DuanChunZhen, located in the basement of the same mall, was a good choice. The restaurant is bright and clean, and is always packed with diners during the weekday evening hours. A must-try at DuanChunZhen is #BeefNoodles. We ordered the BenNiu Four Treasures Noodles ($108), which offers beef shank, tendon, tripe, and tender pork belly. The tripe was my favorite, perfectly soft and firm, with a wonderful texture. The handmade noodles also complemented the waffles perfectly, with a smoky, chewy texture. The beef broth was slightly spicy and rich in flavor. We also ordered a bowl of chicken noodles in thick broth ($88), which was not spicy at all. The broth was still rich and flavorful. The chicken thigh, split into two large pieces, was incredibly tender and smooth. It's a must-try every time I visit. For snacks, we chose the chicken heart ($68), which is a bit less common among the many braised dishes. It's a generous portion and has a stronger flavor. I also ordered the Sanxing Scallion Pork Pancake ($48). The pancake was fried to a crisp, the Sanxing Scallion Pork filling was juicy, and the Sanxing Scallion was particularly fragrant. Worth a try. #Waffles and Shrimp Cakes Unable to resist the sweet temptation, I ordered two bowls of sweet soup. The Double Taro Red Bean Soup ($30) features taro paste and taro balls. The red bean soup exudes a subtle aroma of taro peel and isn't overly sweet, making it a pleasant surprise compared to the double taro. The Black and White Tofu Pudding ($35) features almond paste, sesame paste, taro balls, and tofu pudding.
