Nam Sang Wai

Nam Sang Wai, located in Yuen Long, New Territories, is full of simple pastoral atmosphere. It is a great place for bird watching and picnics, as well as a popular location for photography, photo shoots, movies and television. Nam Sang Wai was not known to Hong Kong people until the little crocodile "Bei Bei" was discovered in the Shan Pui River in Nam Sang Wai. Nam Sang Wai is an oasis full of natural ecology, surrounded by Kam Tin River and Shan Pui River (refer to the map below). Simply put, you can start from Nam Sang Wai Road and swim in a circle along the river. Along the way, you will see different ecological features, such as mangroves, wetlands, grasslands, big trees, ponds, etc. After the walk, take the only existing cross-water ferry in Hong Kong to cross the Shan Pui River, and then take a special minibus back to the city center. Transportation in Nam Sang Wai is not that complicated. First, go to Exit G2 of Yuen Long MTR Station, and take bus No. 76K at the Sun Yuen Long Centre Bus Stop on Long Yat Road opposite. The bus passes the Pok Oi Hospital and starts preparations. Get off at the "Red Bridge" near Route 3, then continue along Nam Sang Wai Road. The eco-tour begins here. Although there are snack shops along the way - Nanshengwei Store, it is recommended to bring enough dry food and water because the business hours are uncertain. The Nam Sang Wai Pond is covered with reeds and turns golden in autumn.
