I saw this popular chicken hotpot restaurant on Instagram and made a date with my sister to go to Tsim Sha Tsui for dinner and shopping this Sunday. Location: In an old tenement building on Carnarvon Road, just above Kee Wah Bakery, with an elevator directly to the second floor. Environment: Reminiscent of the 1970s and 1980s, with food stalls and folding stools, as well as booths. Near the entrance is the Dragon and Phoenix Hall, a teahouse wedding banquet setting. Decorated with latticework iron gates, checkered brick walls, neon signs, a gramophone, a pool table, a soccer ball, a Van Gogh mural, a Huaijing clock, and classic advertising posters, the place is truly captivating. Even the tableware and dishes are made of rooster bowls, vintage enamel mugs, and kettles – it feels like stepping back into the 1980s. Plus, you can enjoy your meal while listening to classic 50s pop hits, creating a karaoke atmosphere. Service: They offer a chicken hotpot set menu with three hotpot broths: chicken, pork bone, and tomato. I chose the chicken broth, but it didn't make much of a difference, as the chicken hotpot sauce completely covered it. Each table also comes with a set of toppings, allowing you to create your own sauce, for $22 per person. Lunch: 🥢Secretly Recipe Spicy Huangyan Chicken Hotpot🥘 (Mild Spicy) $29 It's the size of a whole chicken (I accidentally chose the wrong one🥲), with a large, satay-free Huangyan, topped with coriander and onions🧅, stir-fried in a secret sauce until well-seasoned. The sauce has a strong satay flavor, giving it a rich, savory flavor, but it's not too spicy. The chicken is tender and flavorful😋, and the garnishes🍄 and 🎋 sliced ​​​​mushrooms🍄 and 🎋 sliced ​​​​scallions are refreshing. I was quite full after finishing the chicken hotpot😆. 🥢Beef Balls in Beef Bone Sauce $58 👍🏻A must-try!
