The vacant Chi Ma Wan Correctional Institution

Chi Ma Wan Correctional Institution and Chi Sun Correctional Institution, located at the end of the pier, can be reached by ferry from Mui Wo. The vast grounds are home to the barracks and a staff bar, which has been vacant for over 20 years, awaiting redevelopment. Several cleaners are still stationed at the large correctional facility. Due to the pandemic, more people are traveling, but perhaps due to its remote location and inconvenient transportation, the area is less crowded. By land, walking from Pui O to Sek Long Village takes about an hour.
