Newly opened Amaroni's New York Italian Cuisine 🥳

Amaroni's has opened a new location on the fifth floor of Moko in Mong Kok's Grand Century Plaza, just off Mong Kok East MTR station. Specializing in New York Italian cuisine, the restaurant boasts the same luxurious decor as always. The restaurant features the iconic large "The Thinker" sculpture, which, for the sake of humor, is even wearing a mask during the pandemic. Each table also features a small "The Thinker" sculpture, adding a touch of playfulness. The crystal chandelier adds a touch of grandeur to the restaurant, and the curtains lining the floor-to-ceiling windows are decorated with paintings depicting New York and Italian styles. Unfortunately, we went during afternoon tea and were seated in front of the window, where the UV rays were very strong. We politely asked the staff to draw the curtains, but they refused, saying the curtains were fixed. They suggested we move seats, but then we saw four staff members sitting in the booths with the curtains drawn next to them. This was a bit off-putting. 😂 Back to the point, the food was generally good, especially the signature platter, which was a pleasant surprise: four soft-shell crabs, cuttlefish tips, and fries. The portion was generous and absolutely amazing. The pizza is also highly recommended. The thin crust is unlike typical pizza places, with a soft yet crispy texture. The color and flavor are both top-notch. 👍 As for the Caesar salad, 🥗, you can choose between shrimp or chicken. We opted for shrimp, but unfortunately, the first time they served the wrong chicken. When we asked for a replacement, we were met with a bit of skepticism and a sullen look. 😂 We're absolutely certain the waiter made a mistake and, hopefully, a replacement. However, the salad was clearly the same, with the chicken removed and three pan-fried shrimp placed on top.
