One day deep into the secret of Hong Kong's greenery - Phoenix Peak (Phoenix Peak) hiking strategy sharing! If you are a city dweller, facing busy roads and high-rise buildings every day, have you ever thought of giving yourself a respite occasionally? This time I chose to hike to Phoenix Peak (Phoenix Peak) on Lantau Island, Hong Kong. 🗺️ Trip highlights & hiking route recommendations From Tung Chung, take bus No. 11 to Bo Kwong Au and get off. After crossing the road, go straight up the ladder and walk all the way up the mountain path! Although it was a bit challenging at first, the city outlines looming in the clouds and mist along the way were fantastic. The weather is even a little humid, the hilltop prairie wetland coupled with the woods is full of texture. When I look back at the top of the mountain, my body and mind are washed by nature. When you go down the hill, you can walk towards the Ngong Ping 360 cable car station. You don't have to take a detour, which is a bit of a physical test. Itinerary Inventory (Easy Half Day Route Recommendation) 1. Start from Bo Kok Au: After getting off at Bo Kok Au Station is the starting point of the climb. 2. Sky Ladder to the top: Phoenix Mountain has a section of "Sky Ladder" stone steps, about 500 steps, although a bit up and down 🤪 But the scenery along the way is very cool, you can walk slowly, enjoy the fresh and natural taste. 3. Phoenix Summit View: Up to the top, open grassland, cloudy and rainy days with a little hazy beauty. It is most recommended to have the camera ready to take pictures of the distant city, which is a feeling of being “away from the hustle and bustle”. 4. Downhill in the direction of Ngong Ping: You can choose to take Section 3 of the Phoenix Trail towards Ngong Ping 360, passing through the grassland wetland, down the mountain, along the way many beautiful natural scenery, suitable for friends who like to take pictures. 🏞️ Tips & feedback sharing - Non-slip shoes are recommended. - Windproof jacket. - The route is not difficult, but you have to have basic physical strength, there is a slight soreness after walking, it is considered to be both "challenge and enjoyment", the mountain breeze along the way is super comfortable. - Remember to bring enough water and snacks without refills on the way. Take the garbage away! 🚍Transportation guide - Take New Lantao Bus No. 11 from Tung Chung Bus Terminal and get off at Bo Kwong Au Station; 🍴Food recommendations - After walking, you can go to On Ping Market to find your favorite authentic snacks and tofu pudding; there is also a cha chaan teng nearby, where you can have a hot lunch to restore your vitality. This hike really gave me a feeling of "forgetting my worries for a while", away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and feeling the other side of Hong Kong.
