The buffet restaurant at Zai Lin Ge has transformed itself into a nostalgic ice cream parlor, featuring a special menu of "Classic Nostalgic Cantonese Cuisine." Besides a selection of nostalgic delicacies, the restaurant's meticulous decor makes it a truly memorable place to check in. Coca-Cola is available in glass bottles, offering a wide variety of flavors, and you can enjoy unlimited access. The bowl of shark's fin is incredibly filling, and the hot dishes include stir-fried shrimp with typhoon shelter, braised beef brisket with radish, pan-fried dace cakes, steamed flounder, braised fish maw with mushrooms, crispy pork knuckle, preserved meat lotus leaf rice, lobster claw e-noodles, stuffed crab shells, baked oysters, and a braised assortment of dishes. These classic nostalgic dishes are almost indispensable for any banquet, and it was one of the nights I ate the most hot dishes. In the meat carving area, the roasted bone-in sirloin was rich in flavor and tender, while the pan-fried tiger prawns were next to it, juicy and delicious. All-you-can-eat iced seafood is available, including Boston lobster, mantis shrimp, crab legs, crayfish, mussels, and king crab (available Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and on the eves of public holidays). The noodle stall offers freshly cooked sauerkraut soup with a variety of toppings, including pig blood, tofu, fish curd, and pork belly. You can also add Sichuan peppercorn oil to the sauerkraut soup for a delicious and savory experience. The Japanese food section features a variety of delicious sashimi, abalone, nigiri sushi, and freshly made Hana no Koi sushi. Among the desserts and cakes, classics include Black Forest Cake, Nostalgic Plum Fruit Cake, Sesame Roll (also known as Fei Lin), Pot Cake, Red Bean Tea Cake, and Tzai Jelly Candy. These are incredibly popular and bring back memories. Other dishes include baked soufflé, walnut cream Napoleon, nostalgic dried fruit cake, and tofu pudding. Finish with some diced fruit and Häagen-Dazs ice cream, even new flavors are available.
