Free Exhibition: Dunhuang Art Exhibition at the University of Hong Kong

This summer, the "Dreamy Dunhuang: Recreating the Magnificent Realm of Dunhuang" exhibition is open to the public for free at the University of Hong Kong! The exhibition features various representative Dunhuang art pieces, with the highlight being the 1:1 replica of Mogao Cave 45 on the 2nd floor, showcasing Tang Dynasty painted sculptures and murals (see images 2-4). On the 3rd floor, in addition to mural displays, there are several seating areas with cushions where you can immerse yourself in Dunhuang Buddhist art through animations. It's also a great and relaxing spot to chill (see images 10-11). Please note that the exhibition is located within the university premises. Be prepared to present your ID at the university entrance for registration. When you arrive at the library, inform the security staff that you wish to visit the exhibition, and they will provide you with a wristband granting access (reportedly allowing a 2-hour stay). Once inside the library, please respect the venue, maintain silence, and avoid entering non-exhibition areas. 🗓️ Exhibition Dates: June 7, 2025 - September 7, 2025 🕰️ Opening Hours: Weekdays: 8:30 AM - 9:00 PM; Saturdays: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM; Closed on Sundays and public holidays 📍 Location: University of Hong Kong Main Library, Floors 1-3 (1st floor mainly for introductions, can be skipped) ⏱️ Estimated Visit Duration: Approximately 1 hour

Hong Kong Palace Museum

The Palace Museum in Hong Kong has become a must-visit hotspot for local culture fans in recent years. The museum is conveniently located in the Kowloon West Kowloon Cultural District. The Sky Square Blanket Exhibition showcases a variety of ancient rugs, court supplies, and fine jewelry. The exhibits are not only beautiful, but also have explanations of the historical stories behind them, which is perfect for those who like humanities and arts or want to open their eyes with children. The venue is elegantly designed and spacious. It feels very comfortable to walk down. The light and decoration are perfect for taking pictures. You have to take a picture anyway. The treasures of Mughal art are on display in the collection of the V&A Museum in the UK. The three Mughal emperors are the main line connecting the formation and development of Mughal art, and the magnificent treasures are dazzling. The tour route is recommended to start from the first floor and enjoy the various exhibits floor by floor. You can reserve 2 to 3 hours to slowly stroll around. In addition to the exhibit itself, the museum’s exterior wall design and West Kowloon waterfront views are beautiful. Remember to enjoy and take photos before leaving.
