Old-School Sheung Wan Walking Route Map

Starting from No. 1 Queen's Road West at Shui Hang Kok Street, one of the oldest streets. In the early days of the colony, it was called Possession Street. Opposite is Pound Lane, a very short street, home to Bouillon Bistro Parisien, a small tavern offering a variety of classic French dishes. The restaurant exudes a strong family atmosphere with high-quality food. 📍Address: G/F, 6 Pound Lane, Sheung Wan Pound Lane Public Toilet and Bathhouse. It is Hong Kong's first public bathhouse, built during the plague outbreak and has been in service ever since. Recently renovated, it not only features the latest facilities but also preserves many unique styles, serving as a witness to history and culture. 📍Address: Junction of Pound Lane and Tai Ping Shan Street, Sheung Wan Looking back at Queen's Road West from Shui Hang Kok Street, there is a white, low-rise Grade III historic building, formerly the familiar "Yau Kee Preserved Meat Shop" to locals. Built before the 1920s, this pre-war Tong Lau is now conserved as "Yat Hop," providing event spaces and a permanent exhibition introducing this historic building. 📍Address: No. 1 Queen's Road West, Sheung Wan Moving forward to New Market Street is Western Market. Formerly Sheung Wan Market, it features Edwardian architectural style from the UK, built with red bricks and granite foundations, with large arches at the ground floor entrance. Since the opening of Sheung Wan Municipal Services Building in 1989, Western Market was left partly vacant. Later renovations attracted old shops from nearby areas, including fabric specialty stores on the second floor, relocated from the now-demolished Flower Cloth Street.
