🏠Stanley is named after the 19th-century British 🇬🇧 statesman Lord Stanley. It is a leisurely little world surrounded by hills, with sunshine, the sea, and tranquility. You can often see people walking dogs, sketching, or enjoying coffee in the breeze. Although the area is small and can be explored in a day, it’s comfortable enough to sit quietly in one spot for most of the day. Several buildings on the island have a long history: 🕍Murray House Built in 1846, it has over a century of history. Originally located in Central, it was dismantled in 1982 and relocated to Stanley for reconstruction in 1998. During dismantling, it was divided into 3,000 granite pieces, each numbered to preserve it completely. The architecture blends Western and Chinese features, with Western-style columns and Chinese tiled roofs, reflecting strong colonial characteristics. ⛪Blake Pier Named after Hong Kong’s 12th Governor Sir Henry Arthur Blake. It is a public pier with ferry service to and from Po Toi Island on Sundays and public holidays. 🏠Stanley Post Office Opened in 1937, it is the oldest operating post office in Hong Kong and is a Grade II historic building. 🏠Stanley Pat Kansas Uk Built in 1930, these are eight connected houses with uniform red brick walls, gray roofs, and green doors (such historic houses are common in Mainland China and often overlooked, let alone protected). Two huge ancient banyan trees in front of the houses add a poetic touch to this ordinary place. 🏠Stanley Market 🏠Stanley Tin Hau Temple Built during the Qing Dynasty, it is the oldest Tin Hau Temple in the Southern District.
