Midsummer Mint Chocolate Dream

It turns out it’s been quite a while since I last had hotel afternoon tea. Taking advantage of a sunny day, I went to relax with a friend. This time, I chose to go to the Conrad Hong Kong in Admiralty because they launched a new theme, "Midsummer Mint Chocolate Dream," which perfectly suits my taste. So far, I haven’t found any other place offering this theme. Shortly after ordering, the exquisite afternoon tea set was served. It looked very elegant and was perfect for taking photos. There were three savory items: mint shrimp tart with coconut pineapple salsa, which felt very refreshing and perfect for this season; cream cheese cucumber roll with mint tea jelly, where the rich cream cheese balanced perfectly with the fresh cucumber and jelly; and sandwiches, a must-have for afternoon tea, with mint salmon spread sandwiches that fit the theme perfectly, topped with salmon roe for a finishing touch. Placed in the center was a green gem shaped like a chip and Nestlé logo, which was a mint jelly candy, perfect for cleansing the palate and preparing for the sweets. First, the French mint chocolate puff was soft with a slightly chewy texture, combined with mint cream and strawberries, making it quite special. The mint chocolate cone, shaped like a mini ice cream, was not only delicate and cute but also fresh and tasty. Another item, the mint chocolate mousse cake, was relatively rich. Lastly, the mint chocolate panna cotta had a texture closer to mousse and was equally refreshing. Of course, afternoon tea wouldn’t be complete without scones, available in chocolate and raisin flavors, served with special Mint Clotted Cream and chocolate sauce. As someone unfamiliar with this combination, I was surprised at how well they paired. For two people dining together, a 190g gift box of mint crispy dark chocolate was also given, which was elegant and delicious. The afternoon tea set comes with a choice of TWG Tea or freshly brewed mint tea, but since the weather was really hot, I opted for an iced coffee instead.
