Must-visit for spiritual seekers! Review of Tsz Shan Monastery in Hong Kong

Tsz Shan Monastery is a serene and beautiful Mahayana Buddhist temple located in Tai Po, in the northern part of Hong Kong Island. It is famous for its giant Guanyin Bodhisattva statue, standing 76 meters tall, which is one of the tallest Guanyin statues in the world. The monastery was founded by Li Ka-shing, a famous Hong Kong billionaire, with the goal of providing a true place for people to practice Buddhism and find peace of mind. 📍 How to get there: Take the MTR train to Tai Po Market Station Then take a taxi or bus to Tsz Shan Monastery, which takes about 15–20 minutes Note: You must book in advance through the monastery’s website before visiting. 🌿 Atmosphere: The atmosphere is quiet, peaceful, and shaded, with mountain views and rock gardens surrounded by beautiful Buddhist architecture from every angle. It’s perfect for meditation, sightseeing, or taking photos with a calm mind. ☀️ Summer season (July–August): The weather is quite hot and sunny lately. It’s recommended to bring cold water and an umbrella or hat. When entering the monastery, they also provide each visitor with a cool towel, which helps a lot. For those bringing food, you may eat on-site, but it must be vegetarian only.
