Chilling Southeast Asian flavors

With this scorching heat lately, the best thing to do after a meal is definitely to have some ice cream as dessert. Let's go. This time, we went to The Ice Cream & Cookie Co. on Gough Street in Sheung Wan. Last time, my wife and I tried their soft serve in Sha Tin and really liked it. This time, we came to try their signature ice cream sandwiches. After having the soft serve last time, we also bought some cookies to enjoy slowly at home. Heating them up makes them incredibly delicious—gaining a few pounds is totally worth it! Plus, they have so many different flavors here, which is awesome. After buying, we took them upstairs to savor slowly! My wife and I chose the kaya pandan and caramel crisp cookies, and the ice cream was white peach oolong tea flavor. One bite and the texture is rich and icy cold—so refreshing! The crispy cookies combined with the smooth ice cream is truly irresistible. Seeing that they recently launched new Southeast Asian-inspired desserts and drinks, my wife wanted to be a bit indulgent, so we tried them too! This drink is a white peach oolong milk cap with a smooth and creamy texture—really good. The peach aroma combined with oolong tea is perfect for summer. We also tried the pandan kaya French toast with coconut ice cream! The moist French toast has a strong pandan flavor, topped with a scoop of icy cold coconut ice cream. Drizzled with palm sugar syrup, the hot and cold contrast is really exciting. The ice cream shop also launched ice cream mooncakes called "Gilded Straits Moon," which sounds so poetic! The best part is that besides the ice cream mooncakes, they also come with gold-rimmed porcelain and gilded cutlery. My wife is already smitten, so I have to buy a box to give her.
