No, going to see the Big Buddha at Ngong Ping, Hong Kong is definitely not to be missed!

Review of visiting Ngong Ping Big Buddha with the Ngong Ping cable car – Hong Kong This time, we went to pay respects to the Ngong Ping Big Buddha, also known as Tian Tan Buddha, located on Lantau Island. The highlight is that it’s a very large outdoor Buddha statue, and the surrounding views are amazing! 🛤 Easiest and most scenic way to get there: Start by taking the MTR to Tung Chung Station (orange line). Then walk about 5 minutes to the Ngong Ping 360 cable car station. 🛗 There are 2 types of cable cars to choose from: Standard Cabin (opaque floor) Crystal Cabin (glass floor) – we chose this one this time because we wanted to take beautiful high-angle photos through the glass floor. Personal experience: On the way there, the cable car had other passengers, but we still managed to take great photos. On the way back, it was the best because it was just the four of us in the cable car, giving us a very private atmosphere. We had fun taking photos without worrying about anyone else 🎉 📍 Once you reach Ngong Ping Village, it’s a short walk to the Big Buddha. You have to climb about 268 steps, but once you reach the top, it’s totally worth it. The surrounding views are stunning. Below is the Po Lin Monastery, where you can pay respects as well. It’s peaceful and inspiring. 💡 Tips: Buy cable car tickets online in advance through trip.com to avoid long queues. It’s best to go in the morning when it’s less crowded and cooler. The glass floor cable car is perfect for photography lovers, but if you’re afraid of heights, it might make you a bit nervous 😂 --- Summary This trip was very impressive, especially the return trip when the cable car was just for our group. We could take photos from any angle without anyone disturbing us 🥰 If you visit Hong Kong, I highly recommend making time to visit the Ngong Ping Big Buddha at least once. The atmosphere is great, the views are beautiful, and it fills your heart with a gentle joy.
