Visiting Xiamen Bay truly shows you what 'clear water and fine sand' means! I chose a weekday for a solo trip, and I’m not exaggerating when I say the beach was completely empty! For a livelier experience, consider going with friends on a weekend. Suggested itinerary: Sai Kung Public Pier → Boat ride → Xiamen Bay Pier → Xiamen Bay Beach → Kau Sai Hiking Trail → Pineapple Bun Rock → Tombolo → Kau Sai Pier → Boat ride back Time allocation: Total duration: 2-3 hours Boat ride: 25 minutes → Xiamen Bay Beach: 30 minutes or an entire afternoon (depending on personal preference) → Hiking: 1 hour → Pineapple Bun Rock & Tombolo: 30 minutes → Boat ride back: 10 minutes Boat ride details: I chose Cat Kee, round trip costs HKD 40. Online sources mention payment via cash or Octopus card, but during my visit, only cash was accepted. Tips: 1. Keep your boat ticket safe as you’ll need to show it for the return trip. 2. Round trip to Xiamen Bay costs HKD 40, and round trip to Kau Sai Island costs HKD 30. Suggested route: Start at Xiamen Bay Beach, enjoy your time there, then hike directly to Kau Sai Pier for the return boat ride, avoiding backtracking. 3. Confirm your return time when booking tickets. The entire trip takes 2-3 hours, but you can call the number on the ticket to adjust the time if needed. 4. Boats run approximately every 30 minutes. Pay attention to the last boat’s schedule (currently, the latest departure in winter is at 5:30 PM).
