On a scorching summer day, there's nothing better than enjoying afternoon tea in a lush green setting! So I arranged to meet a friend and we headed to Golden Coast for a sweet Afternoon Tea. Every time I visit Tuen Mun Golden Coast for dining, I always think of the Golden Coast Hotel! The restaurant environment is comfortable, and the food quality is definitely top-notch, never disappointing. This time, we came to Cafe Lagoon inside the hotel for afternoon tea. I highly recommend this to those who enjoy fruity aromas; it’s filled with yuzu fragrance. Most importantly, both sparkling teas are not overly sweet, making them refreshing and charming. After enjoying the refreshing drinks, it’s time to savor the delicious afternoon tea treats. The four savory items look very appealing! There’s seafood as well as meat, fully satisfying your appetite. Smoked Salmon Rose Toast with Honey Mustard Sauce! The soft, oily smoked salmon tastes savory and salty, hiding a slightly spicy honey mustard sauce inside, topped with intensely salty black caviar, blending the flavors of the sea perfectly—full of umami. Candied Abalone has a smoky, chewy texture and is well cooked to absorb flavors. Amid the umami, there’s a hint of honey fragrance, making this abalone irresistibly flavorful. Duck Liver Mousse Waffle with Honey Apple! The dense, eggy waffle is spread with smooth duck liver mousse, and paired with crisp honey apple, the combination is rich in texture and savory flavor. Honey BBQ Chicken Roll! The chewy thin pancake is filled with flavorful BBQ chicken, very tasty. This surprising flavor left a deep impression on me—I loved it. Now, onto the four exquisite sweet treats, all made with honey to bring a sweet sensation to your palate. Honey Scones topped with Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam—this classic way of eating is definitely unbeatable. Lime Honey Cheesecake is very smooth! The savory cheesecake is infused with bursts of lime honey’s sweet and sour flavor, making you want to finish it all without realizing. Poached Pear with Honey Puff! The soft puff pastry is filled with plenty of honey sauce, topped with sweet and crisp poached pear, creating a fairly sweet and refreshing taste. Mango Honey Mousse Cake is perfect for those who like sweet and sour flavors! The unique aroma of mango combined with the smooth mousse cake is truly delicious. Japanese-style Yuzu Honey Panna Cotta! The sweet and sour freshness of yuzu paired with the rich honey makes the panna cotta more distinctive, creating a very delightful flavor.
