Revitalised Cheung Chau pre-war theatre | developed into a diversified cultural and creative park

Cheung Chau Theatre 🎬 was once an entertainment landmark on the island. It is also one of the oldest pre-war theatres in Hong Kong and is listed as a Grade III historical building. It ceased operations in 1997 and was subsequently used as a storage warehouse. However, it has now been revitalized into a diverse cultural and creative park that integrates history, art and culture. The park is divided into several areas. If you want to see relevant information, you can visit the Cheung Chau Information Center first. The museum displays documents and cultural relics related to Cheung Chau’s history. Opposite the archives is the Cheung Chau Theatre Time Corridor, which connects the past and present timelines, allowing visitors to not only experience the past but also look forward to the future development of the park. In the 1931 Studio, there are movie scenes such as "Flirting Scholar and Autumn Fragrance" and "Legal Storm", as well as free costumes for visitors to wear and check in, to have a try at being the protagonist of a movie. If your children are too young, there is an air-conditioned children's play area in another museum. At the back of the park is a large screen area for hosting events, as well as a blessing and wishing wall with century-old twin trees and an outdoor installation inspired by a simulated Cheung Pao Tsai boat. If there are activities, it should be quite lively. Speaking of the Cheung Bao Tsai boat, you can go to the Cheung Bao Tsai Observation Deck near sunset.
