🇭🇰Hong Kong Hiking | MacLehose Trail | A non-tiring way to enjoy the area

Main route: Futian Port - Sai Wan Ting - Ham Tin Bay - Sai Kung Pier - Sha Tin - Futian Port Time: 10 o'clock port. Arrive in Shatin at 6 o'clock. Exercise: 5km hike + 2 hours of beach swimming + 1 hour of speedboat Equipment: Water! Very important. I brought two bottles of water with me when I set out. When I arrived at Xiwan Village, I drank a bottle of Coke and bought two more bottles, which were just enough to get to Xiantian Bay. There is no need for hiking poles, as the road is all cement and short. Hiking shoes are also unnecessary, ordinary sports shoes are best. (The above limits this section). Bring a swimsuit + slippers (seaside swimming equipment) The plants on both sides of the hike are very low, so it is very sunny overall, but the route is basically facing the sun, which is good. (Even so, the facial mask dried up in seconds when I got home that night, so I had to apply it again the next morning.) I arrived at Futian Port at 10 o'clock. After crossing the port, you can take a taxi directly to Xiwanting (it is said to be 300 yuan). I took the express line to University Station and took a taxi (green taxi, 170 yuan). The driver is very knowledgeable and there is no need to worry about taking the wrong bus. The scenery along the way is beautiful, basically walking along the seaside. However, because it was all mountain roads and the driver drove aggressively, I fastened my seat belt not long after I got on the bus. I was in no mood to enjoy the scenery. It was like a real-life roller coaster. After getting off the bus, there will be a sign indicating the entrance to a green path. This road is not actually part of the real MacLehose Trail, but a fork in the road. The ecology is very good. You can walk along the side for about 1 kilometer and appear outside of nature. This section of the road goes downhill all the way, and as you walk you can see the beautiful bay. At this point everything becomes hopeful. I entered the village (beef rice 90 yuan, Coke 15 yuan), and after replenishing my supplies, I waited until about 1 o'clock when the ultraviolet rays were a little weaker before leaving. It takes about an hour from Sai Wan to Ham Tin. There is a slight uphill climb along the way and it is very sunny, so this section is quite painful. We can reach Xiantian Bay at about 2:30. Once you arrive at Xiantian Bay, go buy a boat ticket (160-180 yuan). In order to watch the sunset, we bought a 5 o'clock ticket. The last flight is different every day, so it depends on the specific situation. The next step is to relax at the beach. The best time to go into the sea is at 4 o'clock when the sun is not so strong and the waves become bigger (according to experience of people living by the sea). There are more white people on the beach, but there are few people. We waited to get on the boat to experience the exciting speedboat. The speedboat felt like the most exciting part of the day. The feeling of flying on the sea is really rare. It’s not the boat that flies, but the people who fly! Not only your butt, but also your feet will leave the ground. The first half hour is exciting, and the sunset starts in the second half hour. It becomes much calmer all of a sudden, and there are more islands. You can enjoy it for a moment before you reach the shore~ There are many foods at Sai Kung Pier itself, but we chose to take the bus for 299x to go to Sha Tin for dinner. It’s an hour bus ride, but taking a taxi for this section is actually very fast. I regretted it. After the meal, you can take the express line back to Lok Ma Chau-Fuktian Port.
