Hong Kong Restaurant Review: Hong Japanese-Western Cuisine in Tai Wai

Valentine's Day doesn't always have to be about Western cuisine, Japanese food can be just as good. We went to Hong on Chik Fuk Street in Tai Wai to try their Valentine's Day menu 🫶🏻. Tomato Salad: Tomatoes drizzled with balsamic vinegar, sweet and sour, very appetizing. Cheese Sake Lees: Small, soft, and smooth cheese pieces, perfect as an appetizer. Three Kinds of Sashimi: Salmon, yellowtail, and swordfish. Each piece is thick-cut and fresh. Deep-Sea Fish Sushi, Red Shrimp Sushi, Scallop Sushi: Large pieces that are very satisfying. My favorite is the red shrimp sushi, the shrimp meat is sweet and fresh. Next up are the hot dishes. Sasa Tofu: Smooth texture with bonito flakes on top and soy sauce underneath, offering multiple flavors. Grilled Chicken Wings: Crispy skin and tender meat, very flavorful. Grilled Black Pork Belly: A big bite full of aroma and meat flavor, sinful but delicious. Grilled Chicken with Leeks: Sweet leeks combined with savory chicken, a great match. Eel Fried Rice: A large plate, stir-fried to a dry and slightly chewy texture, very filling. The meal also includes two drinks and a Japanese chocolate cake 😍. The restaurant has two floors, with karaoke upstairs, perfect for gatherings. Eating, drinking, and singing with a group of friends is sure to be fun. For sake lovers, you can order the "One Hit into Hong," where you smash the sake cap with a wooden mallet and pour it into a sake cup, perfect for a celebratory toast.
