Exhibition Review: Bamboo Art Exhibition - Oi! In Situ: Five Zang

Many traditional practical crafts that have been listed as intangible cultural heritage are difficult to sustain in the current era, so few people enter the industry, and there is a lack of successors. However, a girl who is determined to create art - Lin Jiayu (Inkgo), used the opportunity to learn the last generation of steamer making skills to create bamboo artworks, and held her first solo exhibition at Oi! to show everyone the infinite possibilities of bamboo craftsmanship. This time, the first solo bamboo art exhibition "Oi! In Situ: Five Zang" was held at the art venue - Oi!, inspired by the architectural features of the warehouse that are both "separated" and "connected", and created bamboo artworks corresponding to the "five zang". The longest bamboo weaving work "Transformation" created by Inkgo is 35 meters long, showing the steps from the basic "hexagonal weaving" to the exquisite "chrysanthemum weaving" by gradually adding straight lines and cross weaving. In this exhibition, Inkgo shared her "five zang" inspiration inspired by the venue, and added multiple interactive elements to the exhibits, such as movable umbrella mechanisms, and a 35-meter-long bamboo weaving work that allows everyone to throw paper airplanes, leading the audience to explore the connections between architectural space, human structure, and life trajectory.
