The main building, the Wenwu Temple, is dedicated to Wenchang and Emperor Wu, while the Liesheng Palace is used to worship various gods and saints. Among them, Wenchang is in charge of knowledge and official rank, while Wudi represents loyalty, righteousness, military strategy and noble people. Many parents bring their children to the temple to pray for passing exams, getting admitted to prestigious universities, and academic success. Worshiping it can improve your interpersonal relationships and help you meet noble people when you go out. ⛩️About the temple⛩️ ⏰Opening hours: usually 8:00 am to 18:00 pm, open early to 7:00 am on the first and fifteenth day of the lunar calendar and birthdays (07:00~18:00) 🎫Tickets: Free entry to the temple, no reservation required, there are also free 🆓 incense sticks in the temple, three sticks at a time. There are also self-service vending machines for worship items in the temple, which accept Octopus cards. 🤩Featured Activities: Autumn Festival Ceremony: Held in the ninth month of the lunar calendar every year, to thank the Emperor Wen and Emperor Wu and pray for the blessing of Hong Kong Wenchang Birthday: On the third day of the second lunar month, pray for academic progress. Not only can you worship the two emperors Wen and Wu, you can also worship the mythical beast in front of the throne of Emperor Wenchang, the little golden deer god! You can stick gold foil on the golden deer in the temple. Each piece of gold foil costs HKD 20. Please bring your own change. The meanings of sticking it in different places are also different (you can stick gold foil on the deer, I don’t know if you can touch it, but I touched the deer’s face anyway) 🙏Tips for drawing lots: You can draw lots in the temple. There are lot holders in both halls. It costs 3 Hong Kong dollars per time. The staff will give you the fortune stick tube, and then you will kneel down on the cushion in front of the statues of Emperor Wenchang and Emperor Wu, silently recite your name, date of birth and question, and then shake the fortune stick. After shaking out a lottery ticket, return the lottery ticket tube to the staff and tell them the lottery number. They will then give you the corresponding lottery ticket. If you feel it is not good, you can shake it again. You can interpret the fortune yourself or at the temple.
