District "Central": Heart of Hong Kong

#hongkongtrip The central district of Hong Kong is a small northern part of Hong Kong Island, between the districts of Shen Wan and Wan Chai, ending behind the Admiralty Metro Station. The Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the main offices of global and Hong Kong corporations, the World Financial Center, the Bank of China are located here, there are the largest number of skyscrapers in the world (there are more in Hong Kong than in New York), the largest number of masterpieces by modern sculptors and artists decorate the halls and offices of corporations, and in general, everything is superior. Remnants of the colonial past have been preserved here, turned into modern attractions, antique markets and expensive boutiques are hidden here. This is a place that can be studied for months. We get off at the Central metro station, in fact, it is so named for the convenience of navigation in the central district, so that numerous foreigners and tourists from mainland China could not get lost. The station is integrated into a system of high-rise buildings, shopping malls and pedestrian galleries encircling Exchange Square, the Exchange Square, where the famous Hong Kong Stock Exchange is located. Pedestrian crossings run on the second level from the ground, above the sidewalks and stretch in all directions for kilometers. Everything stretches upward. The building in the center with pipes and crossed steel structures is the famous brainchild of Norman Foster, the Bank of Hong Kong, the most expensive building in the world. Its cost during construction in 1985 was 1 billion.US dollars. Below it, we can see the narrow central streets, along which, among other things, the famous Hong Kong double-decker trams run. Central is one of the most famous shopping malls in the city. There are several large shopping malls and busy shopping streets in the area. All kinds of famous shops are located here. Central is a major transport hub of the city. Ferries, trams, subways and buses run in the area.
