Celebrate Economically.

Every holiday, I gather with my family for a meal. What we eat is secondary; the main point is to see everyone together. I can't remember when it started, but Super Star Seafood Restaurant became our first choice. Although now, only the one in Mong Kok's Moko remains. This year, we didn't choose a set menu. Mom suggested we try ordering à la carte. We had a Peking duck, and the staff still brought the whole duck to the table to carve. The duck meat wasn't particularly tender, but wrapped in the pancake with cucumber, scallions, and duck sauce, it was still enjoyable. A holiday meal must include chicken. Nowadays, we can't expect chicken to taste like chicken anymore; as long as the meat isn't tough, it's acceptable. Personally, I prefer crispy fried chicken, but the elders usually have a different opinion. The sweet and sour pork wasn't as visually appealing as expected, but at least it was tender. The pineapple and bell peppers were surprisingly popular. The tofu pot and the chayote pot were served hot, which, as the saying goes, covers up any flaws. As someone who enjoys strong flavors, I found the sizzling vegetables more appealing than just a plain stir-fried dish, and I could eat a few more pieces. We ended the meal with fried rice and E-fu noodles, as the elders believe that such a menu is more complete. Finally, we had a longevity peach bun. The giant longevity peach bun from East Ocean has been famous for years (East Ocean and Super Star are under the same restaurant group), which is a guarantee of quality. I wonder if Super Star will still be around for our next holiday meal? Restaurant Information: Super Star Seafood Restaurant Shop 601A, 6/F, MOKO, 193 Prince Edward Road West, Mong Kok
