Cheap and tasty Singaporean food in Sheung Wan

Lee style Hainanese chicken rice with laksa $108 Singapore white pepper bak kut teh $92 Sautéed water spinach with sambal sauce $72 Pandan curd toast $28 Taste index: 😋😋😋😋😋 Value for money index: 💲💲💲💲💲 Environment comfort: 😌😌😌😌 Environment hygiene: 🧹🧹🧹🧹🧹 Service quality: 💁🏼♀️ 💁🏼♀️ 💁🏼♀️ 💁🏼♀️ One day I went to Sheung Wan and saw that this Singapore restaurant was quite popular. Take a look at the menu, the price is not expensive and there are many food choices. The restaurant is decorated in a Southeast Asian style, with rattan furniture, walls painted with broad-leaved plants, and cabinets made of warm-toned wood. We ordered 4 dishes. Lee style Hainanese chicken rice and laksa is a great combination as you can try two must-try staple foods in Singapore at the same time. Hainan chicken has smooth skin, tender meat and not too much fat. According to the traditional method, it is served with minced ginger, chili sauce and dark soy sauce. The oily rice is fragrant, the grains are distinct, and it is neither too dry nor too soggy. The laksa has a strong coconut flavor and is served with rice noodles. It's just a small bowl, but it has shrimps, tofu, eggs, fish balls, and shallots. What I appreciate most is that the egg yolk is semi-runny rather than fully cooked. Singapore White Pepper Bak Kut Teh is flavourful but not too peppery. There was quite a lot of ingredients, including multiple chops, pork belly and whole garlic 🧄. The water spinach fried with sambal sauce is stir-fried as ordered and has a strong wok flavor. Sambal is an important condiment in Singapore, spicy and stimulating. The pandan curry toast is made with 4 slices of bread and divided into four pieces. Each piece of toast is baked to a crispy texture without any burnt taste. Each piece is sandwiched with a big piece of butter🧈 and rich and smooth kaya sauce, with moderate sweetness. Overall the food quality is good and the price is not expensive. I will definitely come back with my colleagues during lunch time. —— LeeLaksa 📬Ground Floor, 302 Queen's Road Central, Sheung Wan #Hainanese Chicken Rice #Laksa #Singapore White Pepper Bak Kut Teh #Pandan Kaya Toast #Sambal Water Spinach
