Mini Hotel Central is probably the best value hotel in Central District. Overall, the transportation is really convenient and the price is very affordable. I once stayed for a night at just $200, which is even cheaper than hotels in Shenzhen. The standard double room is quite compact. Given the high cost of land in Hong Kong, you get what you pay for, so it's not recommended for tall people. The air conditioning is quite strong, so wear more clothes when sleeping. The quickest way to the hotel from Wyndham Street is via an uphill path and long stairs. The cleanliness is acceptable, and the mirrors around the room enhance the sense of space and add a bit of romance. However, the bathroom and toilet are transparent, so decide for yourself if that bothers you.
