Elephant Grounds (Sheung Wan)

#chinatrip It is a great place both for studying and chatting with friends. There is also an outdoor seating to enjoy the nice weather. The food is average, and the prices are above average. I had the overnight oats with berries and it was delicious. The portion size was also good. Sometimes, the portions can disappoint when it comes to healthy breakfast options. This one was one of my favorites so far, but I would expect more fruits. The service is good, and the staff in this branch is particularly friendly. This is one my go to places when I want to get some work done and have a nice and healthy breakfast.

Dianchi Lake

Kunming is serving up sunshine and nature vibes everywhere you look 🌞🍃 — this trip had outdoor scenery, stunning wetlands, and modern architecture to round it off! If you’re chasing that ultimate chill in China’s Spring City, here are my must-see spots and tips. Top Spots to Visit in Kunming: 🌳 Dianchi Lake Wetlands (Open 8:30–17:30, Xishan District): Perfect for morning walks and seeing local birds. The views are epic on sunny days! 🌄 Dongchuan Red Land: If natural color explosions are your thing, drive out here for sunset—seriously, camera is a must! 🏞️ Green Lake Park (Cuihu Park, 67 Cuihu Road, Wuhua District, 7:30–18:00): Chill under willows, spot koi fish, and watch locals dance. 🌲 Yunnan Nationalities Village (Near Dianchi Road, 8:30–17:00): Culture meets lakeside relaxation, great for snapping vibrant local architecture. 🏛️ Modern Kunming: Swing by the Twin Towers: these iconic city skyscrapers stand tall downtown, awesome for cityscape photos. Travel Tips: My main takeaway: Sun and nature are everywhere, so plan for full-sun days and take plenty of water with you (Kunming’s altitude can sneak up on you!), and bring a hat for shade. Transport is super efficient—just use Kunming’s metro and public buses to hop between major sights. For food, hit up local spots near Green Lake Park for crossing-the-bridge noodles—you can’t leave without trying this! Key Kunming Hacks: Public transport runs till late—download trip.com for schedules and ticketing you’ll actually use. Weather can switch fast from sunny to cool—pack a light jacket! Cashless payment is king: set up Alipay or WeChat Pay if you don’t want cash stress. #KunmingNature #SpringCityVibes #YunnanTravel #ChinaTrip #DianchiLake

TATOC

Visiting TATOC in Harbin was one of the highlights of my trip. This restaurant is not just a place to eat, but a journey back in time. Established in 1901, it carries the charm of “Old Russia in Harbin” and is decorated with such attention to detail that you feel like you are stepping into another era. From the moment you enter, the atmosphere is warm, nostalgic, and a little theatrical – chandeliers, antique furniture, shelves of old books, and even a piano in the corner. It is truly a museum-like dining experience. The menu reflects Harbin’s unique Russian-Chinese culinary heritage. I ordered the classic Harbin salad, served with the famous Dà Liè Bā bread, which was hearty and comforting. The borscht here is slightly sweeter than in Russia, but rich and flavorful, with sour cream served on the side. The beef Stroganoff was tender, perfectly seasoned, and came with mashed potatoes. The portions are generous, and everything feels authentic while also adapted to local tastes. Service was attentive and polite, even though English is not widely spoken – the staff tried their best to help with explanations, and the menu includes English translations. Waiting times were reasonable, and dishes arrived freshly prepared. What I liked most was the combination of history and dining. TATOC is more than a restaurant; it is a living reminder of Harbin’s multicultural past, when Russian emigrants brought their architecture, cuisine, and traditions to this northern Chinese city. Eating here feels like participating in that history. I would recommend TATOC not only for the food, but also for the atmosphere and the story it tells. It’s the perfect place for anyone who wants to experience Harbin beyond sightseeing – through culture, taste, and history. ⭐ My rating: 5/5 – a must-visit in Harbin. #китайбезвизы #harbin #chinatrip #tatoc塔道斯
