Don't miss out on appreciating the architectural design when you come to Hong Kong to see the Palace Museum exhibition

I finally checked in at the Hong Kong Palace Museum, which I've been wanting to visit for a long time. The exhibition is wonderful, but the architectural design itself is a work of art worth appreciating. The building's overall shape draws inspiration from the design concept of traditional Chinese vessels—'broad on top and gathered at the bottom, with a hollow top and a solid base.' It adopts the color scheme of the Forbidden City's architectural complex as the main tone, embellished with beige, dark red, and cool gray. On the entrance plaza directly in front, dozens of translucent glass panels are interspersed, simulating the Golden Water River of the Forbidden City. At the main entrance of the gate, there are 10 vermilion welcoming doors, echoing the main gate of the Forbidden City. Each door is distributed with nine rows and nine columns of 81 glass door studs, which create different visual effects under varying light conditions. The interior of the exhibition hall inherits the concept of the central axis of the Forbidden City, combined with the upward development style of Hong Kong's urban architecture, extending the central axis upwards and arranging the nine exhibition halls on different floors. Moving up from the lobby, the ceilings of the atriums on the second and fourth floors reinterpret the glazed tile roofing of the palaces within the Forbidden City using modern techniques. The design of the three atrium spaces refers to the horizontal progressive spatial layout of the central axis of the Forbidden City, with the museum's atrium spaces progressing vertically, connecting different floors as one. There are viewing platforms on the second and fourth floors, each facing the West Kowloon Cultural District, Victoria Harbour, and Lantau Island from the three atriums, allowing visitors to gaze at different sceneries. Therefore, the entire exhibition hall is beautiful. It's beautiful for its traditional architectural beauty, for its modern design beauty, and for the beauty of the Victoria Harbour view. It's modest and restrained without losing splendor, and innovative and unique while being fashionable. The collision of modern prosperity and classical luxury sparks in an instant, prompting continuous contemplation of the past and present, and of East and West. This trip is worthwhile.
