📍Shatin｜Tokyo Guojianglong Noodle Shop 🍝 Novel and interesting but not amazing

I eat a lot of Japanese ramen, but I am ignorant about Japanese lo mein. "Menya Kokoro" was founded in Tokyo in 2013. Two years after its opening, it won the "Ramen Newcomer Award" and "Japan's Best Mazesoba Award" from the media. The Shatin branch opened in the middle of last year. Chung-Lian launched a new tea brand "Kokoro Nomimono" and launched a limited-time dessert 🍦 Order a serving of authentic full-ingredient Tokyo Lo Mein for HKD109. It is much richer than the original Tokyo Lo Mein with more pork belly, soft-boiled egg, seaweed and bamboo shoots. The noodles are chewy and bouncy, and paired with 🌶️ spicy minced meat, it’s really delicious! The roasted pork belly is lightly seasoned, with an oily and meaty flavor and a crisp texture. Add freshly ground black pepper after eating 1/3 of the noodles to make the taste more prominent; add secret vinegar after eating 2/3 of the noodles to reduce the greasiness and make the taste more refreshing. The other one is the Mentaiko Cream Noodles for HKD99, the Mentaiko has a strong flavour and is super tasty! It tastes slightly spicy, and adding black vinegar makes the noodles taste sour. 👧🏽 It feels numb, not the taste I like! Another snack is the bird cartilage dumplings HKD39 🥟 Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, the taste is average During the limited time, we will collaborate with Kokoro Nomimono tea brand to launch two desserts, namely the melon set 🍈 and the matcha set 🍵. The matcha set is HKD128 and includes two cups of matcha latte, with rich matcha aroma and sweet milk, the taste of the two is just right; matcha cheesecake, matcha moose and sponge cake, the taste is average; there are also fragrant matcha ice cream and smoky and chewy three-color balls 🍡 Trying Japanese lo mein for the first time was indeed novel and interesting, but the overall taste was not amazing or particularly memorable, and the price-performance ratio was not high, so I am unlikely to visit again.
