Get off at Kiu Tau Station and walk towards the "Welcome to Yuen Long" sign at the rear of the bus. Be careful when crossing the road, turn left and take the stairs to pass the large water pipe. Go up the handrail stairs. The entrance to Jigongling is along the right trail at a high point, which is also the last shaded spot along the entire journey. The entrance is hidden, so it is advisable to check the offline map location. There are what appear to be trenches in the high grass at the beginning of the section, so you must pay attention to the road conditions and avoid stepping into the pits. After about 5 minutes, Jiaotong Trail opens up on the right and the road becomes clearer, heading towards Jigongling. Maintaining the upward incline for nearly two hours puts a lot of strain on the calves, so it is a good idea to use hiking poles for assistance.
