Hong Kong 🇭🇰|Hong Kong Geopark, a paradise on earth 🪨 - Kwo Chau Islands 🏝️

Environment/Facilities-🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Features-🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Price per person-🌟🌟🌟 Rating-🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Regarding the name of Guozhou, some people say that it is because when viewed from the sky, it looks like a fruit plate scattered in the sea, so local fishermen often call it Guopan Island. The English name is Ninepin Group. It is said that in the early colonial era, British sailors felt that this group of large and small islands were similar to an ancient British ball game called Nine Pin, so they called it Ninepin. The Kowloon Islands are part of the Hong Kong UNESCO Global Geopark. It turns out that the topography of the island was formed by a volcanic eruption during the Jurassic period 140 million years ago. At that time, the volcanic ash solidified into rock. Due to its extremely high temperature, it continued to cool and finally formed into a hexagon. Then, after years of weathering and wind erosion, it formed the various strange stones and sea arches we see today. The Kau Chau Islands, located about 15 kilometers southeast of Sai Kung, are stunning with their unique rocks, caves, and stunning hexagonal stone pillars! As the Kowloon Islands face the sea, the winds are strong and the waves are rough for most of the year, so the only opportunity to go ashore is during the summer when there are more southerly winds. Summer is here. If you want to travel around this beautiful island, also known as the Tasmania of Hong Kong, set off now! #relax #weekend trip #trip #like #Hong Kong #good places to go in Hong Kong #Hong Kong travel guide

I took part in the free tour organized by the Water Supplies Department. The Hexagonal Rock Pillars in Sai Kung were selected as one of the world's top 100 geological heritage sites. It was my first time there, and the photos were beautiful at dusk. The large-scale hexagonal rock columns are spectacular, but be careful not to get too close when you visit, as the rocks are fragile and can easily fall off #LocalTour #HongKongGoodPlaces
