It is a rare opportunity to stroll through the Coastal Defense Museum. In addition to remembering the heroes of the past, I also felt the tragic events of the three years and eight months. The heroic sacrifices made by the defenders at that time show the cruelty of the war. Facing the beautiful scenery of the huge Victoria Harbour, you may not know that the restaurant here is run by a social enterprise. The team is led by a healthy person to lead a group of disabled employees, who are responsible for cashier, floor work and kitchen assistance, creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities, helping them to be self-reliant and integrate into the society. The restaurant can provide different types of snacks 🥯, coffee ☕️ and drinks 🥤 and other light meals. The Coastal Defense Museum was temporarily closed in September 2018 due to the damage caused by the then Super Typhoon Mangkhut. After the storm, renovation work was carried out and it was not officially reopened to the public until last year in 2022. The café on the museum's rooftop was also reopened.
