After visiting the CLP Clock Tower Cultural Center today, I have a better understanding of the electricity production process and development history in Hong Kong. Introduction to "CLP Power": CLP Power is the main electricity supply company in Hong Kong. It was registered in Hong Kong in 1901 and began to generate electricity in Hong Kong in 1903. It experienced World War II, post-war recovery and economic development; in 1979, CLP began to connect to Guangdong Province and supply electricity to Guangdong Province. Now CLP is an international company with businesses in different regions around the world. Introduction to "CLP Clock Tower Cultural Center": The CLP headquarters building located on Argyle Street, Kowloon was completed and opened in 1940. In response to business development, CLP moved its headquarters to Hung Hom in 2012. The Clock Tower Building was rated as a Grade 1 historical building in 2018. CLP also revitalized the building and completed it in May 2023 to become the CLP Clock Tower Cultural Center, which will be open to the public.
