Ocean Park

I really love visiting Ocean Park! Getting to Ocean Park is simple and straightforward using the subway. It has its own stop which can be found on the South Island Line. The park is divided into two sections - The Waterfront and the Summit. One of my favourite things about Ocean Park is taking the cable car up to the summit. It’s a bit scary being so high up but the thrill is well worth it! There are many rides at Ocean Park, although if you’re just going for the rides you might be slightly disappointed. For me, the main standout is getting to see all the animals in the aquarium. The sharks, fish and seahorses are wonderful. Also I love the Ocean Park Tower which offers a 360 degree view of the park and the surrounding islands. Areas to improve: My phone was dying and needed to find a portable charger. I went to the visitors help centre but it was closed with a note on the door saying to find a park attendant. However, given the size of the park, it wasn’t easy to find an attendant readily available. Secondly, I was told that the last dolphin show was at 5pm, but when I went they didn’t have a show, just a lady talking with a microphone about dolphins all in Cantonese. It would have been helpful to have a bit of Mandarin or English as well. In addition, the dolphins were let into the pool but only jumped twice. I left around 5:30 having seen no show and the park was closing at 6pm. This did surprise me quite a bit. Overall, lots of fun. And I’m excited to go back again! I recommend going as early as possible so you can take your time to explore the many things Ocean Park has to offer!
