Generous Angus Burgers｜HKBurger

A new burger bun shop recently opened near my office. The enticing aroma of fried food always wafts through my doorstep. It turns out it's a popular, hearty burger place. Two months ago, stage actor Leung Cho-yiu was so impressed when he tried it during a performance in Kwai Fong that he recommended it on a social media post. I've been craving this stuffed bun for a while now, but Kwai Fong is so far away that I haven't had the chance to visit yet. I can't believe they've expanded to East Kowloon so quickly, which just fills a gap in this relatively rare burger bun market. Since I have a long overtime shift tonight, I decided to go and recharge. The clean, sleek facade, with its simple, bold black background and orange lettering, highlights the Hong Kong burger tradition. The full menu is on the right, and the signature dishes are displayed on the left, accompanied by beautiful images. The shop primarily serves takeout. Inside, there are only two round tables and a counter against the wall, seating about eight. The kitchen is right next to it, allowing you to peek in as the chefs prepare the food. The menu is quite extensive, featuring burgers, hot dogs, pasta, and pizza. They also cater to groups of 4-6, so you might consider it for company dinners in the future. American Angus Beef Cheeseburger $98 8/10 A generous portion of the Angus burger! The burger patty was cooked to perfection, the meat was tender and the beef flavor was strong. It was paired with a savory sauce and refreshing pineapple to soften the greasiness. Overall, it was good, though a bit more gravy would have been better. 🤣 Signature Hand-Fried Shrimp Cake Cheeseburger with Thousand Island Dressing $88 7.5/10 The bun was toasted to a crisp, and the Thousand Island dressing and shrimp cake were a perfect match. 😋 The shrimp cake was thick and fried to a nice texture. While not very chewy, it was delicious when paired with the tomato, cheese, and lettuce. Black Truffle Fries 7/10 The fries were fried to order, preserving their freshness and crispness. The black truffle sauce was also included, so they didn't overcook the fries. 🍟 Garlic Bun 8/10 It's rare to see a snack with garlic buns, so I ordered one to try.
