Tai Hang Lotus Temple has over a century of history

The octagonal Lotus Temple was built around 1864 and has a history of over a hundred years. It has also been rated as a Grade I historic building in Hong Kong. 💗This Lotus Palace is dedicated to Guanyin. According to legend, Guanyin once appeared on the lotus stone in the temple, so the villagers built this temple to commemorate her. There is an arched door and railing in the middle of the main facade of the temple, which looks like a small terrace. The entrance to the temple is located on both sides of the front hall, which is different from most traditional Chinese temples that enter through the front door of the main facade. As soon as you enter the Lotus Palace, you will see the imposing "Golden Dragon Mural". It is said that it echoes the Fire Dragon Dance in Tai Hang held during the Mid-Autumn Festival every year.
