Hoi An is synonymous with lanterns! 🎈 Hoi An also has a Lantern Festival, held every month on the 14th day of the lunar calendar, on the night of the full moon. ✨ Streetlights are turned off, and the town is illuminated only by the light of the full moon and lanterns hanging throughout the city, creating a magical sight. 🌌 It originally began as a mourning custom for the dead, when lanterns, believed to be auspicious and ward off evil spirits, were hung throughout the town.
