Hoi An Healing

Hoi An is mostly know for its gorgeous lantern-lined streets. While it’s scenic to stroll around in the daytime for photos. The town really comes alive at night in terms of the hustle and bustle. We stayed at Mulberry Silk Village where we were able to book a poolside villa. The hotel also offers a free silk tour every morning and afternoon that runs for 30 minutes and it was interesting seeing how silkworms were bred, how silk is extracted and then how the loom is used to make products. For dining in town, I’d highly recommend Morning Glory (book in advance) for a fancy dining experience. Nostalife is also a lovely spot that is nestled in an alleyway between buildings - much more low-key but the pho is delicious. Away from the old town, Sound of Silence is a beautiful cafe/home stay nestled on the cliff of the beach and the food and drinks paired with the views are amazing. Eight Days a Week is a wooden bar that gathers an eclectic crowd nearby the same beachside for a live music arts night with delicious wood-fired pizza. The Deck also offers amazing views of the city on its rooftop bar that is a hidden gem. For tailors, we went to Ba Ri Tailors off the recommendation of a friend. Clothing was what I wanted and there were tons of materials available - they can either create a new outfit for you or you can bring in an existing piece and ask copies to be made. It is pricey though for custom pieces, and they’re very good at trying to convince you to buy more, so budget accordingly.
