Huitengxile Grassland, known locally as 'Huanghua Valley,' is located in the Chahar Right Wing Middle Banner of Ulanqab City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It lies on the northern slopes of the Yinshan Mountains, 430 kilometers south of Beijing, 135 kilometers west of Hohhot, and 75 kilometers east of Ulanqab. Huitengxile is a Mongolian term meaning 'cold ridge.' Huitengxile Grassland is one of the best-preserved typical alpine meadow grasslands in the world, with an average altitude of 2100 meters and an area of 600 square kilometers. The vegetation coverage rate is between 80% and 95%. The grassland is dotted with natural lakes, earning it the nickname 'Ninety-Nine Springs.'
