Ho Chi Minh City 5-Day Trip

Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, evokes the melancholic and ambiguous atmosphere of the Saigon depicted in Marguerite Duras' novel 'The Lover.' Every city has its own story, and some stories must be told through its architecture. It is often difficult to discern whether the prosperity of the city has created the old buildings or if the existence of these old buildings has led to the city's prosperity. Throughout history, old buildings have subtly and slowly narrated their stories along the way. We chose to stay at Wink Hotel in District 1, which I highly recommend for its great value, convenient location, and friendly staff. 🗓️ Itinerary: Ho Chi Minh Statue In front of the bronze statue of Ho Chi Minh is Ho Chi Minh Square. War Remnants Museum The museum is easily accessible and is said to be a former U.S. intelligence agency site, established on September 4, 1975. The museum is not large, mainly exhibiting items related to the wars Vietnam participated in, including equipment left by the U.S. military. The exhibits are labeled in both Vietnamese and English. Saigon Central Post Office Built between 1886 and 1891, located at 2 Paris Commune Street, it is the first post office established in Ho Chi Minh City during French colonial rule and is one of the most beautiful buildings in Vietnam with Renaissance architectural style. Ho Chi Minh City Museum First opened in 1929, adjacent to the Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens. The museum was designed by architect Auguste Delaval, featuring typical colonial architecture with a Chinese-style roof and Western structural elements. This Sino-Western architectural style is also common in China, such as the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall in Guangzhou and the Republic-era buildings at Wuhan University.
