The Story Told by the Sea: A Day in Hiroshima

Hiroshima turned out to be a much warmer and more sentimental city than I had imagined. From the moment I stepped into the Peace Memorial Park, my heart felt calm. Standing in front of the Atomic Bomb Dome, the past and present seemed to overlap, and the weight of the word 'peace' resonated even more deeply. For lunch, I tried Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, which was not just a simple dish but a meal embodying the city's identity. Its crispy yet moist texture and the rich flavor of the sauce instantly washed away the fatigue of travel. In the afternoon, I took a ferry to Miyajima. The red torii gate, seemingly floating on the sea, was breathtaking in itself. Walking along the island paths where deer roamed freely, I was captivated by the harmonious scenery of nature and humanity coexisting peacefully. At sunset, the view of the sun descending over the sea was utterly mesmerizing. In that moment, I realized that Hiroshima is not just a travel destination but a city that heals the soul.
