Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, Japan

#Japan Attractions Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park is an open public park located outside the Atomic Bomb Dome in Naka-ku, Hiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. At the end of World War II, US President Truman ordered the dropping of an atomic bomb on Japan. The US Sixth Army Air Force dropped the "Little Boy" atomic bomb over Hiroshima at 8:15 am Japan time on August 6, 1945, and it exploded at an altitude of 550 meters. This was the first nuclear strike in human history. The atomic bomb explosion killed more than 100,000 residents of Hiroshima and the city suffered devastating damage. Almost all the buildings near the explosion center were razed to the ground, and only this building (Figure 1) barely stood and did not collapse completely. Today, the Atomic Bomb Dome is preserved as the site of the atomic bomb explosion and is part of the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park. In 1996, UNESCO listed it as a World Heritage Site. On April 1, 1954, the Peace Memorial Hall was completed. Since then, the city of Hiroshima has held a ceremony in this park every August 6th to commemorate the victims. Figure 2 is the Memorial to the Victims of the Atomic Bomb. Figure 3 is the Peace Bell. The purpose of the construction of this bell tower is: This bell tower was built as a symbol of the spiritual and cultural movement to achieve a world of true peaceful coexistence, without war and any nuclear weapons, in line with the eternal wish of Hiroshima. This bell tower is the result of the hearts and donations of all those who wish for peace. We hope that the sound of this bell can spread from Hiroshima to every corner of the world and touch the hearts of all mankind. Next to the Peace Memorial Park is the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, a theme museum of the atomic bomb explosion in World War II. It is a place not to be missed for those who are interested in this period of history. #Overseas Travel #Japan Travel #Japan Good Places #Japan Photography #Japan Free Travel #Hiroshima #Park #Theme Park
