Spring Trip to Hiroshima Castle, the Reborn Carp Castle after Atomic Bomb Destruction

Famous cities in Japan often have historical castles, and Hiroshima's representative castle is naturally Hiroshima Castle. Although it was destroyed by the atomic bomb during World War II, it was fortunately rebuilt and is now listed among Japan's top 100 castles. Its most distinctive feature is its jet-black structure, resembling a black carp, hence it is also known as the 'Carp Castle.' Getting to Hiroshima Castle is quite convenient. You can take the tram to Shukkeien-mae or Kamiya-cho, and it's just a ten-minute walk from there. Hiroshima Castle is a typical flatland castle built by Mōri Terumoto, one of the five elders close to Toyotomi Hideyoshi. At that time, its scale was comparable to Osaka Castle. Admission requires a ticket, which costs ¥370 for adults, making it quite affordable. The castle is divided into four floors, each serving as an exhibition room, with the top floor being the observation deck, offering a panoramic view of Hiroshima City. Surrounding the castle is Central Park, and there is also a Gokoku Shrine nearby that you can visit.
