🚆 Numaji Transportation Museum — A Journey Through Movement and Imagination

#hellohalloween Located in the Asaminami Ward of Hiroshima, the Numaji Transportation Museum offers a fascinating dive into the world of transportation, blending education, nostalgia, and fun. Opened in 1995, the museum was established to showcase the evolution of transport and its impact on daily life. Designed with a futuristic touch, its sleek building stands out, hinting at the innovation within — where visitors can trace humanity’s journey from simple wheels to advanced vehicles and space travel. Inside, the museum features interactive exhibits that appeal to both children and adults. There are real models of trains, cars, and aircraft, along with engaging simulations that let you “drive” or “fly” through different experiences. The highlight for many visitors is the large diorama of Hiroshima, where tiny trains run across a detailed cityscape — a captivating way to see transport in motion. The museum also hosts seasonal events and educational workshops that make learning about engineering and mechanics both accessible and exciting. What makes the Numaji Transportation Museum worth visiting is how it transforms technical history into a sensory adventure. It’s not just about machines, but about human progress and curiosity. For me, watching the model trains glide through miniature tracks brought out a sense of childlike wonder, while the hands-on exhibits reminded me how innovation moves the world — one idea, and one vehicle, at a time.
