Unforgettable Memories: Hengyang's War of Resistance, the brave mountains and rivers.

The Battle of Hengyang was the longest city siege in the history of the War of Resistance against Japan, with the most casualties on both sides. It was known as the "Eastern Battle of Moscow". Under the command of Fang Xianjue, 17,000 Chinese warriors fought bravely in the face of inadequate equipment, lack of reinforcements, and lack of food and ammunition. They used their bodies to block the crazy attack of 100,000 Japanese soldiers for 47 days and nights. Although our side was almost wiped out, we killed more than 20,000 enemies and injured nearly 60,000. We broke the Japanese dream of breaking through the Xianggui Line in 7 days and showed the Chinese spirit. Today, I visited the Hengyang War of Resistance Memorial Hall to pay tribute to these heroes who fought bloody battles for the survival of the Chinese nation.
