Highlights in Heidelberg

If you are planning for a visit to Heidelberg, I would recommend to stay in the old town as all the main sightseeings are within 20 minutes by walking. Some wonderful highlights in the old town area: 1. The castle: the ticket could be easily purchased when you take the funicular, the ticket includes both rides from and to the downtown, the visit to the castle, the wine cellar and the medicine museum, note that you can visit the garden outside the castle for free. 2. The old bridge: a 24 hours accessible place :) I recommend , visitors come day and night to take photo of it. 3. Philosopher's Way: The entrance is just right across the old bridge, once you get there, there's a steap 20 minutes hike to the top, you will then be able to enjoy a full view of the old town 4. The old town high street near the cathedral: if you would stay one more day in Heidelberg, you could slow down your pace and enjoy alfresco dining experiences.
